Cupid Skunks Foresters | In a seemingly effortless performance, Bert Cupid of the Montreal Saints shot down the Cleveland Foresters 7-0 on a 4-hit shutout.
"Bert was just locating so well and using his pitches," Montreal manager Jim Cator said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Cupid recorded 6 strikeouts and 3 walks in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Cleveland manager Pinky Howard said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
Checking out his stats for the season, Cupid has registered 6 wins and 6 losses in 14 starts, posted a 3.35 ERA, and struck out 57 batters in 118.1 innings. | |
