Saints Collect 7-5 Win Over Stars
The Montreal Saints overcame a good performance by New York first baseman Bill Barnett to knock off New York, 7-5, at Dyckman Stadium. Barnett was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Montreal reliever Bud Robbins picked up the win to move to 5-1. Wally Graves suffered the loss. Montreal, at 45-34, is 2½ games up in the Continental Association.

Montreal took a 6-5 lead on Gordie Perkins's 13th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Perkins hit in the top of the 11th, left New York pitcher Wally Graves visibly frustrated.

"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Perkins told the Montreal Today.
