Sailors Dump New York, 5-2, to Win 4th in a Row | The Philadelphia Sailors and New York Stars completed their game despite the rain.
Philadelphia Sailors starter Art Hull turned in an exceptional performance against the New York Stars at Sailors Memorial Stadium, resulting in a Philadelphia win, 5-2. The winning pitcher was Hull, now 2-1. He tossed 7.2 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 4.
Solly Skidmore, who is a two-time All-Star, chipped in for Philadelphia with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 runs batted in.
