In a low-scoring tilt between the Philadelphia Sailors and the Montreal Saints, Al Duster was the difference-maker. The Philadelphia right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Butch Smith earned the save, his 2nd. Philadelphia, at 50-51, occupies 6th place in the Continental Association.

Philadelphia got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Les Cunha. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Sailors ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 1 at-bat, it had a major impact on the outcome.

"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Philadelphia field general Ernie Sprenkle.
