| 3-1 Triumph Runs Gothams Streak to 11 Games | Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the New York Gothams and the St. Louis Pioneers. New York won it, 3-1. New York starter Jerry Decker was in command. Steve Groves, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 16th save. New York's record now stands at 68-41, placing them first in the Federal Association.
New York used the bat of Ray Miller to capture the win. The catcher jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Gothams ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said New York manager Bud Jameson.
