Koblenz Belts Number 300 | The crowd roared -- they knew they were seeing history -- and Hank Koblenz was delighted, too. The 33-year-old Keystones third baseman was making history with his 300th career homer. The crowd buzzed and roared again when Koblenz stuck his head out of the dugout for a curtain call.
"Never, as a kid, did I ever think I'd hit even one," he told BNN after hitting No. 300 in a 4-1 victory over Pittsburgh. Koblenz went 1-for-3 in the game, had 2 runs batted in, and scored 1 run.
Lifetime Koblenz has hit for a .245 average and totaled 1135 hits, 300 home runs and 868 RBIs. | |
