Loyd Impresses in Oakland Loss
The Los Angeles Knights defeated the Oakland Grays, 8-6. Doing his part was catcher Joe Loyd, who hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Chick Pappalardo was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. With the win, Los Angeles elevates its record to 9-9.

In the bottom of the third, Joseph Mills jumped on a knuckleball from Oakland pitcher Johnny Cook. The result was a grand slam home run, making the score 5-2, Knights. In the contest, Mills went 1-2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Mills said. "We did a good job of that today."
