Knights Need Extra Frames to Get Past Centurions
Bennie Griffith batted in 3 runs to lead Los Angeles to a win over Dallas. The final score was 5-4. Griffith chipped in with 1 single and 2 home runs. The Centurions, 12-13, continue their sluggish start to the 1949 campaign.

Griffith had a game-changing home run in the top of the 11th. On a 0-1 sinker from Mac Watters, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Knights a 5-4 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Griffith.

"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Ed Ziehl.
