Grays Get Past Dallas for 4-3 Win
The Oakland Grays downed the Dallas Centurions, 4-3, at Oakland Grays Baseball Park. The Grays were led by Don Miller. He went 5-5 with a triple and 4 singles. He scored 2 runs. The Centurions drop to 13-15 and continue their mediocre start to the 1949 season.

In the bottom of the ninth, Joe Loyd had a chance to deal the knockout blow. And he did, punching a run-scoring double to right-center off Dallas pitcher Howie Edwards.

"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Loyd.
