Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Montreal Saints and New York Stars.

The Montreal Saints grabbed a win, 6-4, over the New York Stars at Parc Cartier II. Montreal center fielder Joe Austin was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Montreal is now 18-22.

With two out in the bottom of the eighth, Gordie Perkins had a game-changing hit. The Saints pinch hitter slammed a run-scoring single off Wally Graves, making the score 5-4, Montreal.

In comments to the Montreal Today, Perkins admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
