Stars Net 4-1 Win Over Falcons | Nagasaki starter Katsunan Umemoto put a stranglehold on the Fukuoka offense. The right-hander had complete command of his sinker in leading the Stars to a 4-1 win. The Falcons, at 7-17, have stumbled out of the gate.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Teruhi Hirai? The Nagasaki center fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Stars on top, 1-0. For the game, Hirai had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Katsunan is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Nagasaki manager Yusuke Kimura. | |
