| Dynamos Drop Miners, 7-5 | The Detroit Dynamos defeated the Pittsburgh Miners, 7-5, at Fitzpatrick Park today. Leading the charge for Detroit was second baseman Del Johnson. He was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Dixie Lee collected save number 1. Detroit is now 25-27, while Pittsburgh is 25-28.
Detroit used the timely hitting of Bill Morrison to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 15th inning to put the Dynamos on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"It was terrific getting this win," Morrison said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
