 | Strom Fires 3-0 Shutout in Dynamos Win Monday, August 28th, 1933 It wasn't easy but Mel Strom made it look that way. Strom silenced the New York Gothams, 3-0, in a Detroit Dynamos triumph at Thompson Field today. Despite the appearance of dominance, Strom said later that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up 4 walks and 7 hits. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else." Up to now Strom has compiled an ERA of 3.91 with a 13-12 mark over 28 starts.
