| Wood Hurls Boston to Shutout Win Monday, September 6th , 1943 Ed Wood was dynamite at Minuteman Stadium today, blowing away the Washington Eagles in a shutout victory. The Boston Minutemen starter had everything working as he held the Eagles to 2 hits in the 3-0 win.
"He was pure nasty out there today," said Washington skipper John Lawrence. "I don't think any team in the league would've had a chance against what he was bringing."
