 | DTD Injury Puts Dawson Out of Lineup Monday, September 27th , 1943 Reports out of Washington indicate that George Dawson, the gifted shortstop, might be sidelined for one week or so with a sore back. The 32-year-old star suffered the injury in yesterday's Chiefs-Eagles game while running the bases. "It's a game time decision," noted the team doctor, "It all depends on how George feels later today. If he can play, he will." To date Dawson has chalked up a .312 average with 3 home runs, driven in 47 runs and scored 62 times. |   |
