Bobby Barrell of the Philadelphia Keystones proved that you can step out of the shadows and onto the stage if you've got the talent and the drive to hone your skills. Hard work, long hours and a tireless resolve paid off for him today in the form of the Federal Association Whitney Award.

Barrell hit for a .353 average while collecting 230 hits, 37 doubles, 8 triples, 53 home runs, 162 RBIs and scoring 132 times.

He received 16 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. George Cleaves of the Pittsburgh Miners finished second in voting, while Bob Martin of the Chicago Chiefs finished third.
