 | Sakata Humbles Fukuoka, 1-0 Sunday, October 1st , 1950 Fukuoka dropped a 1-0 shutout to Kyouhei Sakata and the Nagasaki Stars at Fukuoka Stadium today. The Falcons offered little resistance to Sakata, who stopped them on 1 hit, fanned 1 and walked 3. "It just felt right today," the left-handed Sakata told reporters after the win. "Even with the rain, it didn't throw me off my rhythm." Thus far this season Sakata has posted a 21-9 record, started 35 games, struck out 87 batters in 263.2 innings and compiled a 3.21 ERA.
