| Los Angeles Topples Minneapolis, 1-0 | The Los Angeles Suns faced a tough opponent in Minneapolis pitcher Pete Jones, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Wilshire Park by a final score of 1-0. Jones went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Ron Clark closed the door for Los Angeles, picking up his 19th save of the year. The win makes Los Angeles 80-64.
The Millers had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Suns going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 16-year veteran Al Johnson came to the plate. Johnson hit a run-scoring double on a 1-0 slider from Minneapolis hurler Pete Jones. It was Johnson's 1st double of the year.
Johnson attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
